Press Options:
We highly recommend using a dedicated leather press, however pressure can be applied in a number of ways such as using a drill press, arbor press or a leather punch press.
If your press does not have a large enough pressure plate for your stamp then you can tape the custom stamp down to your material and move the stamp and material together under the pressure plate/foot, applying pressure to different areas of the stamp, but a larger surface area press is easier and faster.
You must use a press with resin based stamps, but you can hammer smaller brass stamps. Our brass stamps come with a 3/8"-16 female threaded opening on the back to allow you to attach a small bolt for hammering or threaded rod for insertion in a drill press. You can also order a standard or electric branding iron handle and use your stamp just like one of our more traditional branding irons.
